Hi everyone, I've been making a start on my Christmas cards as you know and so I thought as I had made this one with some left over snippets from some other cards I would share it today and enter it at Pixie's playground. I made this using the leftover piece of card from cutting a Christmas tree and the wordy paper is also from my snippets box. You can join in with this weeks snippet challenge here
Work in progress is really the wrong title for this post because I've finished. Yes thats right my cross stitch is finally all done so this will be my last link up with Sharon and her blog for now. If you are inspired and have a piece of work you want to get completed I'd highly recommend this as a way to spur you on. You can read all about it here on Sharon's blog
I'm trying to be on top of my Christmas card Making this year and so at the weekend I managed to get a few made and this one fits the theme over at Sparkles Christmas Challenge this month as it's snowflakes
The backing Papers are some i found when I was sorting out all my Christmas stash ready for this year and the image is stamped and its one I think I got free with a magazine and then I've coloured it with my promarkers
I have a friends birthday coming up soon and so when I had some time in my craft room at the weekend I made this card for her. It's using an image from one of LOTV art pads. I do love these they make for some great cards this is from pad English Charm (set 24) and the sentiment is from General Sentiments (set 8 ) which is also an Art Pad
Its time to share my August Tags for this months Technique Tag Swap over at Chocolate Baroque
This month our technique was to make a Masterboard using 2 layers of acrylic paint and something to take off some of the second layer to reveal the paint underneath. I used bubble wrap to do this
A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to win a set of stamps over on Vicky's blog here Vicky is a Stampin Up Demonstrator who makes some gorgeous cards do pop along and visit her blog to see for yourselves. Anyway I won the set of clear Acrylic stamps called Show and Tell 2 and just recently I got round to having a play with them and this is the card I made
I have to admit these stamps aren't my usual style and not something I would have chosen to buy but so I really wasn't sure what to do with them. However after a bit of playing around and a couple of attempts that ended up in the bin I finally made this card that Im fairly happy with. The inks and backing paper are also from Stampin Up and were already in my stash. I'd like to enter this into Scribble and Scrap Challenge 24 Anything Goes
Gosh 2 posts in one day now that is quite something for me although the first one was scheduled with Mr Blogger
When I made my butterfly tag the other day (you can find it here)I also made this one using the same colours and a similar technique but i also used grunge paste through a stencil and then added treasure gold building wax to the raised areas. The stamps in the background are from Chocolate Baroque so I'm going to enter it into the monthly challenge here but I'm not sure if it will qualify as an entry as the stamping isn't such a focal image as it really should be
Well this post is called work in progress but actually i have made very little progress on my piece in the last month. We had holidays a week away and then DH had another 2 weeks off work when we were out and about and making the most of the glorious weather we have been having so very little sewing got done. I have though made a start on the backstitch this last week so if you look carefully you can see a little bit of progress has been made.
I am as always linking up with Sharon on her blog here where you can read all about WIPW and see what others are doing too so why don't you pop along over and see.
