I'm back

Sorry to have not done any blogging for a while but we have had holiday from work for the last 2 weeks and we have spent the last week n York with Hannah and Michael as they prepared to move to Canada. Their work permits finally arrived on Wednesday much to everyones relief and they fly out to Canada from Heathrow on Monday afternoon. Today they have gone to London to stay with a friend and for Michael to go to a leaving do of another friend who is returning to Australia. We had a lovely time with them although it was a very emotional time too and we managed a day to visit Stephen's parents too so that was good. Saying bye bye was very hard and I am feeling a bit low now but I'm sure once I know they have arrived safely and are settled I will feel better. Michael starts work on 1/8/09 and to begin with they are staying with Michael's Uncle until they get a place of their own which they hope won't take long.

I haven't done much crafting an my mojo seems to still be on holiday, I hope it comes back soon.

Today I have managed to make a couple of ATCs for a swap on the CB forum and an acceptance card for Ruth to send in reply to a wedding invitation. I still have a wedding anniversary card to make for an order so I hope my mojo returns very soon although I still have some time left before it is needed.

This is the wedding acceptance card

A couple of ATCs and a card

I made these ATC's yesterday and the card too. The card is for a swap but the ATCs were just me having a play and a bit of an experiment.

I also made birthday cards for Hannah and her OH whose birthdays are this month but yo will all have to wait to see them until they have received them as Hannah visits here to see what I have been up to

The first ATC was an experiment with paper tearing

The second ATC was an experiment using chalks

This is the card for a swap on creationsbyjj forum, the theme is a card for a child

I don't think I will get much crafting done in the next few days as Mum has come to stay so I won't have much spare time, we are also seeing Hannah and Michael at the weekend probably for the last time before they move to Canada but they are still waiting for there work permits to arrive

Todays makes

I have made a couple of cards today in between doing the dreaded housework, ironing and food shopping. I also managed half an hours sit in the garden this afternoon with my cup of tea

This first card is for my husbands new curate who is to be ordained tomorrow, I hope she likes it. Sorry the picture isn't great but I did it in a rush and I think the sun was a bit too bright

The second one I made today will have to wait as I don't want it to be seen by the recipient before it arrives at it's destination

I also made this card yesterday for my Father in law, it's his birthday on Tuesday.

Something Different/ Lots to do Challenge

I'm still trying to get to grips with all the different features on my sewing machine despite the fact that I have had it for 4 years now. I used it a bit to begin with and then it has sat in the cupboard apart fro making Hannah a couple of simple ball gowns when she was at university. I wasn't really into card making then like I am now so hadn't thought about using it for my cards. I am also getting back into my sewing so my machine is getting used again.

When I saw this weeks Lots to do challenge I thought that this would fit the brief perfectly

Todays makes

I haven't had a lot of time for paper crafting today but I did manage to make a card and an ATC

The ATC is for a very special lady who shall remain nameless for now until she has received it sc00005b0dwtmk.jpg

The card was coloured using my new prismacolour pencils and my promarkers for the face. The image came from someone on the CB forum, sorry I can't remember who

Father's day card plus

I made these cards last night, one is for my father in law for father's day.

The second card is coloured using my new prismacolour pencils and some sansodor, it's not great but not bad for my first with these fantastic new pencils. I still need lots more practice though

It's finished

Hi all, thank you all for your well wishes and concern expressed about my headache, it finally lifted yesterday afterternoon so I was able to do some sewing.

I finished my skirt I so hate doing the hem but it's done now and I'm really pleased with the result, it's much bettter than the first one I did.

I also made this little purse to add in as a gift for someone's birthday.

I really enjoy making these purses as they are so quick and easy to do, I'm going to experiment with making them in different sizes so they can be used for different things. I've been asked if I can do one to be a glasses case will be trying that out first, then will try making one big enough to use as a makeup bag maybe, I'll see how it goes.

Thanks for visiting my blog and taking the time to leave a comment
