Better late than Never

Ive had this journal page finished for a few days but Ive really struggled to get a photo as its been very damp and miserable when Ive had the chance to get into my craft room this week. Its still damp and miserable today but Ive got a photo  that is reasonable for adding here.
This last week the prompt over at Journal 52 was aromatherapy and this led me to think of roses and their gorgeous scent. When I was small my dad grew lots and lots of roses and so their scent brings back lots of happy memories

Cards for a boy and a girl

When I had chance to get into my craft room at the weekend I made these two cards

This first one still needs a greeting but Im waiting to see who I send it too before I add that

This second one was made using some snippets from my scrap box for the background and so I'm going to enter it into Pixies Snippets challenge

AYOS 2

I've made another card using my stamp from Chocolate Baroques A Year of Stamping (AYOS) you can find it here

Its another wintery card and Ive left space to add a sentiment when I know what I will be using the card for as I thought it could be used for several different occasions.

Windows Journal 52 week 6

Im really enjoying the journal 52 challenge and so far I'm managing to keep up and also to make a journal page for each of the weekly prompts. This week the prompt is Windows and that set me thinking. Do I do what I can see out of one of my windows here at home, do I take a more vague take on the word window as in " the window to my soul' or do I do what I would love to be able to see out of my window in my ideal world?
I finally decided on a mixture of what I could see from my Gran's window when I was small and what I would love to be able to see from my window now. This is the page I came up with, I'm not completely happy with it as my pages are still tending to be a bit too orderly I think, I would like to be able to be more random and haphazard but that is something I find very difficult.

Why don't you go visit the journal 52 blog and see what some of the others have been doing you can find it here

I'd also like to enter this into Pixies Snippets challenge here as some of the embellishments were from my box of left over snippets.

Lilac Postcards

I've managed to get my postcards finished today for the swap over on the Chocolate Baroque Ning site, you can find the link on the left in my side bar. This month we had to either incorporate violets or the colour lilac in our postcards. I didn't have any violets so I have used the colour Lilac to make this months two cards

Television Journal 52 week 5

This weeks prompt over on the Journal 52 site that you can find here is Television, mmmmm what to do ?  There are so many possibilities with this one, do I choose a favourite programme, or a favourite genre, something from my childhood or something I like to watch now? After lots of deliberating I decided to combine several of these possibilities in one page. I enjoy gardening programmes although I'm not a gardener and I have fond memories of family Friday night TV viewing as a child when we had to watch Gardeners World at that time with Percy Thrower as presenter as it was my Dad's must watch TV programme. I still enjoy watching it today along with all the other gardening programmes especially the ones from the Flower Shows.

Printable Craft Shop DT call

The Printable Craft Shop are having a DT call which is a new venture for them and this is the card I have made as my DT entry

I have used one of the Freebie dig kits available on their website here  although I have taken elements from the kit and used them along with some card from my stash and an embossing folder to make my card for the DT call. The store is linked to the My Crafts - Craft Community that you can find here This is a great community of all sorts of crafty people mainly those into paper crafting although we also share our love of other crafts including knitting, crochet and cross stitch so everyone is welcome.

Tp make my card i have made an A5 base card out of pale green card and I've used a snippet of Stamping' Up dotty paper to add a strip about one third of the way up on my base card. Ive embossed a piece of Core'dinations green card which Ive then sanded back to show the inner layer of paler green card. To this I have added the flowers from the freebie dig kit which I have decoupaged to add some dimension although this doesn't show as well as i wanted in the photo. the centre of the main flower has a layer of glossy accents added to give some shine as does the centre of the plain peach flower. The sentiment is stamped using a Chocolate Baroque greeting stamp.
