Journal 52 week 14

The prompt for last weeks journal page was Candy. I was really stuck for what to do for this and I'm really not happy with the outcome, so much so that I wondered about tearing the page out of my journal and starting again but I didn't. I decided that my journal was about pushing myself out of my comfort zone and experimenting and that if it didn't always work then that is part of the journey and part of the learning experience. I even wondered about not sharing it here but then I would't have a complete record of my pages and as my blog is as much about me keeping a record of what I make as it is about sharing my journey I decided to go ahead and share it anyway.

Journal 52 week 13 Spring Clean

Phew I've managed to get my Journal 52 page completed and blogged in time this week after a few weeks of being late. This week our inspiration is Spring Clean which as always can be interpreted as you wish. I started out by writing the word Spring in big letters on my page then I wrote all the things about spring cleaning around those letters. Next I sprayed some Glimmer Mists over my page in Spring colours, this caused my writing to bleed giving a slightly messy look to my page and representing the uncleaned piece. Then I added some stamping and finally I added a piece of clean white card to represent the cleanness at the end of all the cleaning.

Journal 52 Week 12 Inspiration Board

Its time for my next Journal page as part of the Journal 52 challenge and this week our Inspiration/Theme was to do an Inspiration Board style page. Ive really enjoyed this one as I'd been looking around at some images for Spring Easter so I have included these in my page. Also after I took this photo I added some more personal writing and ideas for Easter

Journal 52 week 11

This weeks inspiration for the Journal 52 challenge is Just Write and so for this one I copied one of my favourite poems especially for this time of year which is The Daffodil by William Wordsworth. I wrote this round the edge of my page and then I filled the space in the middle with some thoughts shared on the back of a catalogue about the Mothers' Union. I then stamped some daffodil images over the writing to add some depth as I felt the writing on its own looked a bit stark.  To make the most of this theme I used pen and ink as I thought it gave my the chance to prctice a bit and as you can see from the couple of blotches I still need plenty more practice.

Dandelion Bunny Cushion

In the February edition of Lets Knit magazine was the pattern for the cute Dandelion bunny cushion and I was inspired to make it. This is my cushion and I'm quite pleased with how it has turned out as it was the first time I have made something using circular needles

Journal 52 weeks 9 & 10

Hi everyone I'm here to add my next two Journal 52 pages. I've managed to keep up with creating my pages but I've got behind with blogging them so this time i have two pages to share with you and then I must get this weeks page completed

For week 9 we were challenged to just use one colour plus black and white and to use one geometric shape. I chose to use yellow and circles using the black and white paint to create various shades go yellow. i also decided to leave my background white so that I had space to add some journalling should I choose to do so at a later stage. This is my page

I actually found this much harder than I was expecting to as when I first saw the theme I new what I wanted to do straight away but getting what was in my head onto my journal page was much harder. I'm still not happy with what I've done but it is what it is for now.

Week 10's challenge was much easier for me as it was to use colouring books for inspiration, now colouring is something I love to do and I have some adult colouring books that a friend bought me a few years ago and so I used a page from one of them for this journal page. I really enjoyed doing this page and again I haven't added any journalling yet. Sometimes I feel that what I write in my journal is too personal to share and so that is why I am sometimes sharing my pages before i write on them
