Good morning everyone, I have recently been going to a beginners crochet class to learn how to crochet, I could manage a granny square but anything else was beyond me especially reading a pattern and doing rows lol. I have been inspired by Lucy from Attic24 as she makes some fabulous things by crocheting do go visit her blog she is sooooo inspiring. Anyhow the classes have been great at teaching me the basics but they have finished now :( and I have just completed my first proper crochet project by following a pattern which came from Lucy's blog- thank you Lucy.
I have made a cushion cover and although its not perfect I am pretty pleased with it
On Saturday it was my monthly card group and this month Lesley the local Stampin Up demonstrator came and did a workshop with us. We had a great day with lots of inspiration and lots of lovely stash to play with. I managed to make 6 cards which I will share with you below. They all just need a greeting adding but I won't do that until I know who I am going to send them to so that I can make it more personal
Yes Christmas card making is now in full swing and this week i have managed to make these 2 cards plus a couple of others that i can't blog yet so the count is growing and I'm feeling fairly organised in the card making department. Yesterday I managed to make my Christmas cake so Im pleased about that too. I just need to start the present shopping now and at least I have some ideas for what family members would like so that is good. Anyway enough waffle from me, here are the cards I have made
I've just realised I haven't shared the birthday card I made a couple of weeks ago for the little girl of a friends of ours, she was three and at the moment everything has to be pink so of course I had to make her a pink birthday card. I was lucky to be able to use one of my new LOTV stamps that I purchased using the voucher I won in their weekly blog giveaway
The stamp is Cake Glorious Cake which I stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black before colouring it with my pro markers, the paper and embellishments are from my stash and the image was cut using a spellbinder nestie die set
I'd like to enter this into the Ribbon Girls Lovely Lili Challenge where you need to use a LOTV product and this month the theme is a nice easy one of Anything Goes
On Saturday it was our October card group when Anne was our teacher, she is a big House Mouse fan so it was no surprise to us that the cards she was demonstrating included this cute character. We made two Christmas cards which I want to share with you
Good morning it's wet and blustery in my part of the country today so its a perfect day for staying indoors and doing some catching up and some crafting
Its time for the October quintile swop and the theme this month is "Spooky" now I don't do Halloween so I have had to think outside the box a bit for these but thanks to some prompts on the Chocolate Baroque Ning site ( link on my side bar) I have managed to come up with these so Im hoping they will be ok
Hi everyone I am still here but we have been ob holiday so sorry that there haven't been any blog posts for a while but hopefully things are back to normal this week so I should be back to some more regular blogging.
We had a lovely break in Cornwall where we visited some stunning beaches as well as the Eden Project and the Lost Garden of Heligan. Since we came home I haven't done any paper crafting as my DH was still on holiday so we have been busy at home sorting and tidying both in the garden and the garage doing the things we don't normally have time for. I have also managed to fit in a bit of a revisit to something I used to do years ago and that is dress making. I have made myself a new skirt using a pattern that came with this book. I am quite pleased with the result apart from it came up too big despite carefully measuring my waist and hips so I put some elastic in the waistband across the back which worked out well. Next time I will be making a smaller size
On Saturday we met together for our September card group and this month Sue was our leader, she had us making Christmas cards and I made 4 all of which are brilliant for batch making for those of us who have lots of Christmas cards to make.
In the afternoon I also made this card from a freebie pad I got with a magazine sometime in the dim and distant past. I found it when I was looking for something else and thought I had better start and use it
