Card Group

Last Saturday just before we went away was our card group and this month and this month we were very lucky to have Emma from Paper Artsy come and teach us our class. Emma's Aunt is one of our group members, aren't we lucky? We did a piece of mixed media art that started out as a 7x7 inch square and ended up as 3 pieces of art to put on card blanks plus a spare piece. Unfortunately I couldn't manage to take pictures during the class but you can see the technique demonstrated on their youtube channel here

These are the 3 cards that I made

They all need a greeting adding but I'm waiting until i use them to add that so it will be appropriate to the occasion I want the card for.
I'm very pleased with my result as it pushed me well outside my comfort zone.

Birthday Cards for Friends

Two of my card making friends have had birthdays this last week in fact they share the same birthday and so of course I had to make them both a card. I have to apologise for being a little late posting these but hubbie and I have just had a few days break in Devon and I didn't have time to schedule the post before we left as we only booked 36 hours before leaving home

I made their cards using the Halcyon Days CD form Crafters Companion, Im really loving this cd as it can be used for so many different occasions

These are their cards, the first one is the one I made for Fran and the second one is what I made for Sue

July Tags

Good morning everyone its time for me to share my July Tags for the monthly swap over at Chocolate Baroque Ning site (link in my side bar)
This month our theme was Faux Decoupage/Tiered Stamping this was a new technique to me and so I have had a couple of practice goes that simple ended up in the bin. I'm still not overly happy with the results that i have come up with so I hope whoever receives my tags is kind about them but these are what  have ended up with. I have used my polychrome pencils to colour the stamped images before layering them up

Work in Progress Wednesday July 9th 2014

It's almost finished!
Yes I've got the cross stitch part all complete now so it's just the backstitching to do. I used to wonder at the point of doing all the backstitch but it really is worth doing as it makes such a difference to the completed project.
Here is a picture of my piece without the backstitching and then I'll share again when it is finished. I can't wait now so hope it doesn't take me too long although OH has holiday coming up so it might take a while as won't get much done during the holiday time

As usual I'm linking up with Sharon on her blog here for this weeks round up of WIPW

Birthday Card

Yesterday was our Son-in-Law's Birthday so of course I had to make him a card. It has been made a while because as most of my blogging friends know our eldest daughter and her husband live in Canada and last month our other daughter went to stay with them for her holiday and so she took the cards with her. i say cards as later this month is their second Wedding Anniversary and also our daughters birthday. Yes for once I was that organised lol

Anyway enough of my ramblings, this is the card I made for him, my apologies for the poor quality of the photo but i had to get it taken in a hurry and the light wasn't that good i think it was a rainy day.
