Sorry I haven't blogged for a while but we have had our daughter who lives in Canada home since the middle of May so I have been spending as much time as possible with her as she goes back to Canada on Monday. Her husband has come across to England for some work commitments this last week so she is away with him. We will see them at the weekend for a couple of days before they fly back home. Anyway while she is away I thought I would do a quick catch up of some of the things I have been making, unfortunately some things I have forgotten to photograph but I will share what I have.

These are the cards I have made
The first is a card I did using Brusho paints for a friend

This second one i the card I have made for my Father in Law for Fathers day which is this coming Sunday

And this last one is the Birthday card I have made for him as its also his birthday this month

I have also been busy with some knitting and I have completed a canvass work cushion cover so although I haven't blogged for a while I have still been busy being creative. Ill share my sewing and canvass work makes another day

May Swap ATCs

Im getting ahead of myself for the swap over at MyCrafts as our lovely daughters are going to be home in May and I want to be able to spend as much time as possible with them. The theme for the May ATC swap is Frogs and these are the ATCs I have made. I found the image on the internet here then I reduced it in size and coloured it using my promarkers.

Birthday cards

Here are a couple of birthday cards I made the other day after having a play with inks to make backgrounds. I felt the backgrounds lent themselves to silhouette stamping.

I've been busy recently trying to finish some of my unfinished objects, I'm very good at making cushion fronts and never getting round to making them into actual cushions but I have now managed to turn two of these cushion fronts into cushion and I'm really quite pleased with the results. The first one is a knitted cushion and the second one is canvass work. Ive knitted for as long as I can remember but I hadn't done anything other than children hats and scarves for a long time so this was out of my comfort zone especially as it included cables. However I realised that knitting is a bit like riding a bike and once you have learn the skills you don't really forget them and the cabling came back to me very quickly and quite easily. The canvass work cushion is the first time I have followed a pattern as the only other time I had a go I just made a small sampler when each week at a class the teacher taught us another stitch. I really enjoyed making this cushion, so much so that I am making another canvass work cushion at the moment to a different pattern. It's almost finished so will show you when it is completed.

Birthday Cards

Good morning everyone, I hope wherever you are you have better weather than we do right now as its dark and rainy here in North Yorkshire.
I had some time on Saturday in my craft room and was able to get ahead with making some birthday cards as I have quite a few birthdays coming up plus its my Mum's 80th next month and I need to make her a special card.
Anyway these are the cards I made at the weekend

Saturday, 9 April 2016

I've joined in with an ATC swap over on the MyCrafts Forum, it's ages since I have made any ATCs so thought it would be good to get into making some again and this seemed like the ideal opportunity. The theme for the month of April is Trees and we had to make 3 ATCs I chose to make mine all the same.

Long Time No Post

Hi everyone I'm sorry it's been such a long time since my last post but since we moved I've been spending quite a bit of my time in the garden getting it sorted and as a result I've not been doing so much crafting but I'm hoping to get back to more crafting now and to more regular blogging. I also discovered Instagram at the start of the year and I've been posting on there much more as I find it quicker and easier especially from my phone or iPad .
I did make some easter cards and also there have been a couple of birthdays I have made cards for so I thought I would share them today

This is the Easter card I madeI'm so sorry its such a dark picture it must have been a wet day when I took it

Stephen's Birthday card

Birthday card for my friend which I hope she has received today. This is a never ending card but I only have a photo of the front of it

Mothering Sunday

Here in the UK its Mothering Sunday on Sunday March 6th so I thought it was time I got on and made a card for my Mum. This is what I came up with, its my first make in my new craft room since we moved and I'm hoping there will be many more makes to follow The papers were a free download from Crafters Companion although I believe they are from last year but i think they might still be available. The design was inspired by a card I found on Pinterest but sadly I didn't save it and I can't find it again today so I'm not sure who it was made by. If anyone can enlighten me I am very happy to give the credit where it is due
